Question of the day: what would be the things that’ll make your summer day even brighter? A chat with a friend? A compliment? Or perhaps this Healthy Chewy Chocolate Cookies Recipe for the cookies that are seriously easy to make, low-calorie and most importantly super-yummy?
I say that these all are good ideas! Because regardless of what you’ll do to elevate your spirits today, if it’s makes you happy AND it’s good for your overall well-being, it’s definitely worth going for!
But you know what I loved most about making these cookies the other day?
It was sharing them with my boys who enjoyed both a yummy dessert AND a healthy snack all in one piece! 🙂
Making a dessert to treat someone can be truly rewarding! (And good for your waistline, too! Because no matter how healthy, there is a place where there can be too much of even such good thing as a healthy dessert, right?) 🙂
So, about these cookies:
Healthy Chewy Chocolate Cookies Recipe
As you might’ve noticed from my latest recipes, these Healthy Chewy Chocolate Cookies are really quick and easy to make, just like the Healthy Chewy Banana Cookies or the Healthy Birthday Cake Cheesecake!
The reasons to this are:
- The summer heat makes you low on the energy levels (I get SO lazy in the summer!)
- Almost nobody can avoid getting out of their regular routines in the summer! (I’m currently in Russia, my birth-place, traveling around with the kids and researching the best Russian desserts to share with you when I get back home to the US) 🙂
But still… just like I’ve mentioned, your good mood is a very BIG and important deal! This is why I think that making a healthy & easy treat to elevate it is a good idea! What do you say to that? 🙂Let’s fix it up? 🙂
The Healthy Chewy Chocolate Cookies are easy to make, low-calorie, low-fat and all-natural. Serve them as a healthy dessert, snack or breakfast!
- 2/3 cup white whole wheat flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/3 cup fructose sugar or 1/2 cup regular sugar
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Mix the oil, sugar, egg white and vanilla extract. Gradually add in the flour mixture. Mix together until incorporated.
Preheat the oven to 350°F, and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out a tablespoon of dough, roll it into a ball and place each ball of dough on a cookie sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between the cookies. Press each ball of dough slightly down to make a flat cookie.
Bake the cookies at 350°F for 10-13 minutes. (More baking time = crispier cookies; less baking time = chewier cookies)
Let them cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
Love that these use everyday ingredients! I can’t wait to give them a try. What a wonderful chocolatey treat!!
Thank you Debra! 🙂
Not usually a baker, but my country’s lockdown got me trying out these babies! So easy to make and so delicious! Thank you <3
Oh, Jessi! Thank you SO MUCH! I am SO HAPPY that you liked them! Have a GREAT DAY! 🙂
