…After having baked the Healthy Low-Calorie Apple Cookies and seeing them disappear in a matter of one day I decided that this was a good sign! The sign that more cookies needed to be baked!But then – healthy cookies are always a good idea, don’t they? 🙂
Especially now, after having just survived the Halloween Candy overload!
Because here’s a weird thing: now that all the candy is finally gone, everyone in the family STILL craves “something sweet”! But yet, only I have this nagging feeling that “something sweet” should also be on the healthier side! 🙂
This is why this batch of healthy cookies was the best and the easiest answer to this “want something sweet” but need something healthy dilemma! 🙂
HEALTHY LOW-CALORIE CHOCOLATE BRAN COOKIES
Filled with the seasonal goodness, these cookies only took me 10 minutes to mix up!

In the crazy midst of my usual morning rush when I only have a few minutes for MY breakfast – having a healthy indulgent cookie was such a great and yummy solution!
They’re also so easy to pack in my kids’ lunches! My boys always want a treat with their lunches and seeing them taking my cookies made me feel… well, like a good mama! 🙂Finally, low in calories and sugar but high in fiber and vitamin content, these cookies can indeed be counted as healthy food! That’s why I just KNOW I’ll be making them again!

The Healthy Low Calorie Chocolate Bran Cookies that are chewy, flavorful, nutritious, easy to make and completely guilt-free!
- 1 cup oat bran
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup fructose sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce you can also use pumpkin puree
- 1 egg white
- 2 tbsp butter or oil
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 350F/175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Whisk the bran with cocoa powder, baking powder and pumpkin spice.
Mix all the rest of the ingredients together.
Mix the wet and the dry mixtures. Mix together until incorporated.
Take tablespoonfuls of dough and place on the lined baking sheet.
Bake for about 15 min, slightly longer if needed, until lightly brown. Allow to cool on a cooling rack.
Ooh these sounds good, I’m going to try them with pumpkin puree – what a treat!
