Officially: you can eat the whole batch of decadent dark-chocolate truffles late at night and… feel GREAT about it (both physically and peace-of-mind-wise!) That is if it’s these Healthy Low-Calorie Truffles which also happen to be high in protein (naturally!), have huge beauty-boosting benefits (there’re A LOT of antioxidants in them!), and… did I already mention that the are extra-low-calorie?
Yep – they’re just 25 calories a piece! Can you actually believe that?
THE SECRET BEHIND THE HEALTHY LOW-CALORIE TRUFFLES
It’s simple. Lots of cocoa powder and fat-free greek yogurt!
…My love for the fat-free greek yogurt is immense!
Low-calorie, high protein (can you believe that one 90-100 calorie serving (depending on the brand) has the whooping 18 g of protein?) That’s higher than most protein bars! Only… 100% naturally!
That’s why if you haven’t already – I’m begging you to please check my other yogurt based recipes because… they are just SO GOOD!
From the yogurt-based cookies to the yogurt-based mousses – I hope that once you try them, you’ll see just how good this low-calorie ingredient tastes in a dessert, considering all the great things that it does!
Still, by far favorite yogurt-based dessert… is actually a part of a dessert! The BEST part that makes your cakes and cupcakes so decadently luscious!
The frosting! Such as this Healthy Chocolate Frosting or this Healthy Vanilla Frosting!
Yes – the usually buttery-sugary thing that you’d think packs the most calories! Only – in the instance with the yogurt-based ones – so unbelievably healthfully guiltless!
This is why I am just so exited to share this recipe with the yogurt as its main ingredient! Only… you would NEVER guess that!
Decadent, chewy, fudgy and satisfying – these Healthy Low-Calorie Truffles taste nothing like health food!
They taste just like the real decadently dark-chocolate truffles! (Yes, like the ones where one little piece is your recommended serving size which you don’t want to exceed unless you’re looking for trouble!)
Well: not in this case!
Officially – I have just finished this current batch (yes – I ate the whole batch in one late-night sitting!) Because I needed to relax and this was my therapy! …And let me tell you: I have no remorse whatsoever about it!
Oh, and I am making another batch tomorrow: because I’ll need to relax again then!
So what do you say? Are you ready for the recipe? I so hope you’ll give these Healthy Low-Calorie Truffles a try! Because: they are SOOO GOOOD! 🙂
The Healthy Low-Calorie Truffles are naturally high in protein, low-fat, easy to make, taste like dark chocolate and they're just 25 calories a piece!
- 4 oz fat-free greek yogurt
- 3 tbsp regular unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp dark unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp oat flour*
- 1 tbsp honey*
- extra cocoa for dusting optional
Mix the yogurt with honey and flour. Add in both cocoa powders. Stir very well, until incorporated. (I like using a fork to mash the dough thoroughly).
NOTE: This recipe was made with the Fage yogurt (their greek yogurt is very-very thick). If you are using any other brand of greek yogurt you may need to add one extra tbsp of regular cocoa powder to thicken the dough.
Cut the dough into 12 pieces and roll each piece between your hands to form the truffles.
If desired roll in the 1 tbsp extra cocoa powder and enjoy!
*You can use any other flour in place of oat flour except for wheat and coconut flour.
ATTN: DO NOT use wheat flour in place of the oat flour because it's not safe to consume it raw!
The reason to not use the coconut flour is because it's really moisture-absorbing and the truffles will have completely different texture! (They'll be really-really dense)
*Just 1 tbsp of honey was sweet enough for me! The truffles were bittersweet, tasting somewhat like the 70% chocolate. If you want yours to be extra-sweet, you can increase the honey to 2 tbsp.

I really like to read your blog articles. I’m also a big fan of writing down goals and keeping up with them for that very same reason–to see my progress and get encouraged to keep going. If there’s no feeling of progress, then motivation can dwindle before you accomplish what you set out to. Great article!
Thank you so much for this awesome comment! :)And yes – writing down the goals is so super-helpful as far as the motivation goes!
