Hi, friends! It’s Summertime! But as much as we’re all excited for all the fun things to do ahead of us, wouldn’t it be even more fun enjoying all these things knowing that you look your very best this summer?
Well… I can definitely advise you to start by taking better care of your overall health (because, your physical beauty does begin with health!) But since I’m not at MD I will not be getting into this topic today! 🙂Instead I want to talk to you about the mindset that can help anyone look her best this summer, no matter which stage of healthy-fying they’re in!
So, here’s what I’ve recently learned from the web and from… my own life experiences:

Apply your makeup sparingly!
I’ve seen this tip a few articles that I’ve recently read, and, well… Aside from the fact that too much makeup always draws attention away from your natural beauty…
Too much makeup in the summer can also cause a LOT of discomfort! Just think about dealing with the smudging all over the place eyeshadows OR about putting on the water-proof stuff that you can never rub off without hurting your skin!
And HOW can you look GREAT if you’re uncomfortable or unconfident, or worried about the smudging makeup making you look like a clown? 🙂
The SUNSCREEN. Well, I can once again remind you that unprotected sun-bathing causes premature aging and cancer. But… let’s leave this to your derm. Still, when your face or body is burning under the hot sun’s rays which causes aches and redness, can you POSSIBLY feel or look your best?
Wear comfortable, yet flattering clothing! Because wearing a super-tight dress or stilettos can make you feel stiff and worried about eating an extra bite, yet, a tee and a pair of flip-flops… are OK to wear sometimes, but, wouldn’t a cute sundress and a pair of comfy&cute sandals make you feel so much prettier? 🙂
RELAX and have fun! And yes, in this order only, please! 🙂 It’s just because many of us think that “having fun” is something that must be forced or scheduled. Like… “I HAVE to travel!” Or “I MUST throw a backyard party!”
Well… How about NOT throwing the party if you know you won’t be feeling your best for it? How about making sure that you’re rested and relaxed BEFORE you even start planning? I think that it’s crucial for your looks just as much as it is for your well-being to ensure that you feel your best first!…Oh, and is there something wrong with a stay-cation? Let me tell you this: I wanted to travel the whole wide world before I had kids. But these days… Will I sound shocking if I’ll tell you that if you give me a free cross-Europe ticket I will most likely not take it? 🙂
No but seriously, though… All this packing-planning-making sure everyone isn’t bored hassle sounds just like too much trouble to me! OK… well, do you know why I would take it? For the kids. But not for myself. Because the kids would benefit from it. Pretty shocking huh? 🙂
Love yourself! Be confident in whatever body you’re in! Because you do so many great things! Because YOU are important! Hm… I haven’t mastered this skill yet… But I’m on my way. And hopefully after reading this you will be too!
Finally, just follow this simple trick: keep telling yourself “I am beautiful!” Just say it. As a mantra. (I’ve just recently read about this trick and it made so much sense to me!) Because then little by little, whether it’s summer or fall – you’ll end up believing that you actually are! (And make everyone around you know it as well!)
