Hi, friends! So… are you watching the “Oscars” tonight? 🙂 …I hope that I am! I’m saying “I hope” because… Well, here’s my other funny “LA story”: (remember, I told you one of my LA stories here?) 🙂 Before I came to LA I used to make double-tripple sure to watch “The Oscars” every single year! I was so into the the movies, and watching all these beautiful people showing up at the Red Carpet wearing their beautiful gowns was such a HUGE TREAT!!!!
Well… but here’s what happened when I got to Los Angeles: my first few years in LA I… missed “The Oscars” because I was at work on those nights. And then… came my boys. So, guess what? I wasn’t able to watch “The Oscars” either! Because – when they were just born, I’d always rather sleep than do ANYTHING else! And now – guess what would they rather watch: the beautiful gowns or a boyish TV show? So I haven’t seen one full ceremony ever since I’ve been here! I know, life gets quite dramatic, just like my favorite movies, doesn’t it? …But tonight though… I am hoping that my boys are big enough now to let mom sit down and stare at the dreamy gowns for a few hours! And as I’ll be watching all that, I might as well have a little guiltless treat! Like these…
Healthy Low-Calorie Chocolate Bon-Bons!
…Made with the healthy sweet potatoes and lots of healthy cocoa powder, topped with my special “Greek Yogurt Icing” and sprinkled with the golden nonpareils… And… it’s The Oscars Party for me! 🙂 So, are you watching the Ceremony tonight? 🙂
Low Calorie Bon-Bons
Low Calorie Healthy Bon-Bons topped with the Healthy Low-Calorie Chocolate Icing! They make a perfect, guilt-free snack, breakfast or dessert!
For the Bon-Bons:
- 2 cups sweet potato puree 1 large or 2 medium mashed potatoes
- 3 egg whites
- 1/3 cup fructose sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup coconut flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
For the Frosting:
- 1/2 cup fat-free greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp golden nonpareils
In a blender combine all the Bon-Bons ingredients together. Pour the dough into a baking pan (I used the 9X9 inch pan) and bake for 40-50 minutes. Set aside to cool down.
Once the dough has cooled down mash it with a fork or puree it in a food processor.
Roll the round bon-bons.
To make the icing combine all the icing ingredients together. Stir well. Smear the bits of the icing over the tops of the bon-bons and sprinkle each with some nonpareils. Enjoy!
