DRESS: Kimchi Blue (on sale for half the price!)// SANDALS Nine West (under $100)* CLUTCH: Michael Kors * NECKLACE: Meira T
Hi, friends! Everyone needs a Special Event Dress… But as a mom of two little boys living on a modest budget I hardly ever get to go out! So most of my closet consists of comfortable, yet feminine pieces that I can wear anywhere. 🙂But once in a blue moon… I do get to go out! 🙂 As in – to an Event where people are supposed to dress up for. Such as your Friends’ Wedding.
And last week I was invited to THAT very EVENT: my friends decided to finally tie a knot and I was invited as a Guest of Honor! 🙂 I was super-excited! Not only for my dear friends (of course I was super-excited for them!!!!) 🙂 …
But also because I could finally wear something SUPER-PRETTY! A GOWN!!! Yes, a real, beautiful evening gown, with an open back and a long, pretty, flowing skirt! I could finally get out of my everyday jeans & tee shirt uniform and feel like a princess!
Luckily in my local Urban Outfitters store there was that dress! Regularly sold for $250, now on sale for half of its the price – it had everything that I could ever wish for: the open back, the long, flouncing skirt and the light, glittery, delicate fabric!
…When I tried it on – I loved it even more: it was the perfect dress for my upcoming occasion! Not only I loved how it fit. I also loved the way it felt wearing all these flouncy beautiful tears of fabric! 🙂
I paired this dress with my favorite golden sandals (from Nine West which I love because they make decently priced but high-quality shoes) and a little golden clutch.
And because the dress by itself makes such a statement I didn’t want to draw the attention away from it with too many accessories. The only piece of jewelry that I wore with it was this tiny golden necklace.
So what do you think of this Special Event outfit? Have you been going to any special events lately? 🙂 Have you gone to any weddings this Spring? What would you wear to your best friends’ wedding? 🙂
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
…And just in case this particular dress isn’t exactly Your kind of a dress 🙂 or if it isn’t what you’re looking to wear to your Special Event, here’s a list of a few other dresses that I love ( Ranging in style and in price 🙂 )
