We all want to look and feel beautiful, confident and irresistible, don’t we? I believe that a simple change of an outfit style can seriously transform not only the way we look, but also the way we feel!
…You may already know that I like digging a bit deeper beyond my outfit choices! Being a psychology major I love learning about this connection between the styles we wear and the way we feel!
Why? That’s because I personally don’t always feel the way I want to feel! Life can get stressful and the feelings of sadness and frustration, the lack of confidence and joyfulness are almost unavoidable! Does this sound familiar? 🙂But I also believe that looking your best has a lot to do with feeling your best! So… how can we make ourselves feel great (and look great) by being more conscious with our outfit choices? Here’s what I’ve found out:
7 Ways How Tweaking Your Style Can Change Your Attitude
1) Wearing a Breezy Summer Dress makes you feel girly, pretty and uplifted.
This was the most common response on the site reddit where women were asked how wearing such dress made them feel. And I can’t agree more! Nothing makes me feel girlier (i.e. youthful, feminine and adventurous) than wearing a breezy summer dress!
2) Wearing a Short Skirt or a Tight Dress makes you feel sexy:
Well, duh! 🙂 I am not digging deep into this one because I think it’s pretty obvious. The only thing I want to add is that you HAVE to be confident enough to be comfortable wearing such outfits! Because there’s no way you can feel sexy without feeling comfortable! Been there, done it in my teens 🙂 And here’s my best tip: if you don’t feel right in this type of clothes – you’re better off wearing a longer skirt or jeans and pairing it with a “sexy” accessory or makeup (high heels & red lipstick) to feel sexy AND confident at the same time! 🙂
3) Wearing a Long Skirt (or a Dress) makes you feel Uber-Feminine:
Well, what can I say? You may’ve already noticed how much I looo-ove long skirts (both maxis and midis)! After having cleaned our house, done the laundry and the dishes (and a dozen of other such things) – nothing helps me feel more feminine, polished and beautiful like a feminine long skirt or a dress! …Even if it’s not the most comfortable item to run my errands in. So what? It makes me FEEL so GOOD! 🙂
4) Wearing a Structured Pant-Suit makes you feel strong and composed.
This one is a classic fashion-psychology statement, because well – it’s what strong men usually wear. I don’t like wearing pants very much and have been avoiding such suits, even when I interned at a corporate office in my pre-kids days. I like feeling more feminine, which takes us to the item #5:
5) Wearing a structured dress makes you feel confident and classy.
Because a dress is a dress – guys don’t wear them. That’s why no matter what, a dress makes you feel oh-so-feminine! Yet, if it’s structured and fitted, whether you want it or not, it’ll make you stand and sit up straight. Your straight back and the dress’s classic cut makes you feel confident!
Too bad that it’s not the most comfortable item to wear when you run around with your kids! So you won’t see me wearing this one a lot at least in the near future! 🙂
6) Wearing a pair of jeans and a tee makes you feel casual, but… not too feminine.
…Unless you pair them with something uber-feminine, like high heels. Because once again – jeans and tee are the unisex type of clothing. And unisex can never make you feel real feminine, unless, well – you pair it with an uber-feminine accessory, such as shoes, jewelry or a girly purse!
I think getting dressed into something beyond the casual is like making your bed everyday – it starts your day off better and gives you that little bump in the right direction! So smart and you look absolutely beautiful!
